Geoff is a freelance photojournalist based in Chicago and Eastern Iowa. His work ranges from long form documentary work to politics, news and sports.
Previously, Geoff has worked as a staff photojournalist with the Gazette in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and the Herald-News in Joliet, Ill. The experience of daily assignments has molded him into a Swiss Army knife photographer, able to photography any type of assignment that might pop up.
As a former staff photojournalist he greatly values being a part of the community he photographs, as well as the accompanying trust and responsibility. Always on the lookout for stories to pitch, it is this kind of work that reinforces his love for the work. Geoff was recognized as the Iowa Newspaper Association’s 2024 Photojournalist of the Year, and was a finalist in 2023.
Originally a Chicagoland native, his work has taken him from Illinois to Montevideo, Uruguay and beyond. Geoff is equally comfortable working in English or Spanish.
Outside of journalism, Geoff competes as an amateur thaiboxer and loves his dogs.
